Media Training

Auburn Media’s Training Workshops offer tailored training to religious leaders and experts on religion, providing them with effective communication tools for media engagement.

Auburn Media Training prepares faith leaders of all traditions and experts on religion for the demands of media appearances and teaches them to deliver their strongest message with confidence and conviction.

The training workshops are designed and led by expert media trainer Macky Alston, Sundance award-winning documentarian, television producer (HBO, PBS, Discovery), and theologically-trained Director of Auburn Media. Trainings address:

  • the development of core messages for media presentations
  • successful media strategies appropriate to television, radio, print, and the Internet
  • interview rehearsal on camera using video playback
  • a working knowledge and comfort with media process and terminology

Whether you are under fire in your congregation, committed to public witness, or about to embark on a book tour, let Auburn Media Training prepare you to deliver your message with success.

Some testimonials about our Media Training Workshops:

“The training was pivotal, enriching, edifying and affirming in so many ways. Your training helped me to see my calling, my journey–and myself–a little more clearly. And I am forever thankful.”
– Rev. Irene Monroe

“Auburn Media has been very successful in enabling religious communities to effectively convey their message through the media. Auburn’s uniqueness lies in its understanding the power of media and how religious leaders should frame their messages for the general public.”
– Daisy Khan, American Society for Muslim Advancement

“I learned concrete skills that were relevant; I got to learn the theory and then practice it; the session was grounded explicitly in Jewish values and language; the training team was dynamic and engaging; I came away inspired and eager to try new ways of communicating with the world. Really, this was an incredible opportunity and I am deeply grateful to have been included”.
– Rabbi Lisa Goldstein
